New COO for Girl Scouts Central Texas

On October 6, 2015, the 65 local troops in the BCS area were proud to welcome Kenya Johnson as their new Chief Operating Officer for Girl Scouts of Texas. Authoritative and Friendly aren’t two descriptors you often hear together but with Kenya Johnson the two go hand in hand.

When asked what inspired her, Kenya swiftly answered that it was the Mission. Her mission to ensure the best scout experience for everyone.

Kenya presented her goals as new COO, emphasizing excellence in customer service, clear communication, and camps/programs with follow-through.

She drew attention to the importance of positive focus, active listening and appreciation for your team.

Mrs. Johnson then excitedly presided over a small investiture ceremony for some new volunteers who all recited the Girl Scout Promise with solemn joy.

She enthusiastically thanked the Service Unit for their passionate dedication to the Girl Scouts sisterhood.

Girl Scouts is never short of inspiring and dynamic figures. Kenya is no exception — her poise and delight in service revitalize the vision for what Girl Scouts is all about.
